4.1	The Promoter may use different methods of choosing the winner, depending on the format of the competition:
(a)	Main draw: All Entrants who correctly answer the Competition Question will be placed into a draw and the winner will be chosen by random draw. If no Competition Question is asked, all Entrants will be entered into the random draw. The random draw will take place as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within 7 days of the Closing Date ("Draw Date");
(b) Instant wins: Where a competition is designated as an Instant Win competition, the winning ticket numbers are pre-allocated by the Promoter before the competition opens for entry and are not altered thereafter. Ticket numbers are then issued to Entrants at random at the point of purchase, with one ticket number issued per entry (whether paid or free). If any ticket number issued to an Entrant matches a pre-allocated winning number, that Entrant wins the corresponding prize. Full mechanics, including notification, validation and prize claim procedures, are set out in the Additional Clauses — Instant Win Competitions, below;(c)	Auto draws: The Promoter may use an auto draw system for choosing the winner or winners of the Main draw and any Instant wins. For the Main draw, the system will be set to randomly select a winner from all valid entries as soon as the Closing Date is reached or all entries have been sold (including allocation of free entries), whichever is sooner. For Instant wins, the auto draw system will automatically allocate the relevant prize to a winner if their entry number matches the instant win number.
4.2	At checkout, all Entrants are given the option to consent to having their full name and county of residence displayed publicly alongside their ticket number(s) and entry date in the Competition History section of the relevant competition page. Where consent is given, this information is published immediately upon completion of entry and remains visible to all visitors to the Website throughout and after the competition. Where consent is not given, only the ticket number and entry date will be displayed; the Entrant will appear anonymously. Eligibility and prize award are not affected by this choice. This applies to both standard and instant win competitions, and where an instant win prize has been won this will be indicated on the competition page in the same manner.
4.3	For help with entries, please contact us via email at contact-us@edgecompetitions.co.uk

Additional Clauses

Prize Draw Terms & Conditions — Instant Win Competitions

This addendum forms part of the EDGE Competitions Ltd Terms and Conditions and should be read alongside the full Terms and Conditions above.

  1. Where a competition is designated as an Instant Win competition, a portion of the available ticket numbers will be pre-allocated to instant win prizes before the competition opens. All instant win prize allocations are fully determined prior to the first ticket being sold. No winning numbers are assigned, altered, or reassigned after ticket sales commence.
  2. Ticket numbers are assigned automatically and at random at the point of purchase. EDGE Competitions Ltd has no involvement in which ticket number any individual entrant receives. All instant win outcomes are subject to validation by EDGE Competitions Ltd in accordance with clause 7.
  3. If your ticket number matches a pre-allocated instant win prize, you will be notified by email to the address registered on your account. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure their contact details are accurate and kept up to date. EDGE Competitions Ltd accepts no liability for missed notifications where incorrect or outdated contact details have been provided.
  4. Regardless of whether a ticket number corresponds to an instant win prize, all valid entries are automatically entered into the main prize draw, which will take place on the published draw date. Winning an instant win prize does not affect an entrant’s eligibility for the main draw.
  5. Where an instant win prize takes the form of EDGE Competitions site credit, the credit will be applied automatically to the winner’s registered account wallet upon confirmation of the winning ticket. Site credit prizes have no cash value, are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged, and cannot be withdrawn. Automatic application of site credit is subject to validation under clause 7. Where a prize is subsequently withheld under clause 7, any automatically applied site credit will be reversed. Site credit has no expiry date unless otherwise stated on the relevant competition page. EDGE Competitions Ltd reserves the right to introduce an expiry period on future site credit prizes with no less than 30 days’ prior written notice.
  6. Where an instant win prize is a physical item, EDGE Competitions Ltd will dispatch the prize to the delivery address held on the winner’s registered account. Winners are responsible for ensuring their account details are accurate and kept up to date. Where an instant win prize is a cash payment, the winner will be required to provide valid UK bank account details and proof of identity through their EDGE Competitions account before payment is issued. Cash prizes will be transferred directly to the winner’s registered bank account only. EDGE Competitions Ltd will not transfer prizes to third party accounts under any circumstances. EDGE Competitions Ltd may decline to issue any prize where the winner’s identity or eligibility cannot be verified to its reasonable satisfaction.
  7. EDGE Competitions Ltd reserves the right to withhold, suspend, or refuse to award any instant win prize where it reasonably believes that: (a) the entry was obtained through fraudulent, automated, or otherwise prohibited conduct; (b) the entrant has engaged in behaviour intended to gain an unfair advantage, including but not limited to the use of multiple accounts, multiple devices, coordinated group purchasing, or scripted or automated entry methods; or (c) the integrity or normal operation of the website, payment process, or instant win allocation system has been interfered with. Where an entry is declared void under this clause, a refund will be issued where required by applicable consumer law.
  8. EDGE Competitions Ltd will not be liable for any failure, error, or malfunction of the instant win allocation system, website, or any associated technology that results in an incorrect ticket number being issued, an incorrect prize being displayed, or an instant win prize being incorrectly allocated or withheld. In the event of a verified system error, EDGE Competitions Ltd reserves the right to void the affected entries and issue a full refund. No compensation will be payable beyond the refund of the entry fee paid.
  9. All entrants using the free postal entry route have an equal and automatic chance of winning instant win prizes. Free entry ticket numbers are assigned randomly and automatically by the same system used for paid entries. EDGE Competitions Ltd does not manually assign ticket numbers to free entry participants.
  10. At checkout, entrants are given the option to consent to having their full name and county of residence displayed publicly alongside their ticket number(s) and entry date in the Competition History section of the relevant competition page. Where consent is given, this information is published immediately upon completion of entry and remains visible to all visitors to the website. Where consent is not given, only the ticket number and entry date will be displayed; the entrant will appear anonymously. Eligibility and prize award are not affected by this choice. This applies to both standard and instant win competitions. Entrant data is processed in accordance with the EDGE Competitions Ltd Privacy Policy.
  11. EDGE Competitions Ltd will update the competition page to reflect instant win prizes as they are claimed. Prize availability is subject to change in real time as prizes are won. EDGE Competitions Ltd will not knowingly advertise prizes that are no longer available. In the event of a delay in updating the website, EDGE Competitions Ltd accepts no liability to entrants who purchased tickets in reliance on prize availability that had already been claimed.
  12. Where an instant win prize winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond within 14 days of notification, EDGE Competitions Ltd reserves the right to declare the prize forfeit. A minimum of two contact attempts will be made by email to the registered account address before a prize is declared forfeit. Where a prize is declared forfeit, EDGE Competitions Ltd may at its sole discretion re-award the prize, retain it, or include it in a future competition.
